Library Director’s Assistant-Library Assistant II

Part time – some evenings and weekends


We are looking for a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude.  Candidates should be able to assist the Director by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail and e-mail.  Must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks and excel at both verbal and written communication.


Responsibilities :


Greeting and assisting patrons

Answering phone calls, photocopying, faxing

Interlibrary loans – Maintain records for incoming and outgoing books

Managing inquiries over the counter, via email or by telephone

Cataloguing new materials

Organizing repair of damaged material

Registering new patrons

Processing payments and fines

Manage and maintain website, Facebook and electric sign

Accounting, bill payment using QuickBooks

Other duties as assigned




Proficient computer and office equipment skills

Experience in a customer service role

Outstanding organizational skills

Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills

Willingness to learn

Library experience as asset
